Stereo image abnormalities

Hi Mike:
The 244 ceiling (bass traps) are indeed between me and the loudspeakers ( NOT perfectly centered between each other by about 5 inches for the right ceiling trap: hopefully it’s 24 inch width is covering the reflection point).
Their are 2 monster traps at the upper front wall ceiling/ corners- cadi- cornered as in picture above.
Yes- GIK said use a limiter on those to absorb more bass ——- but I kept asking him why not use FULL RANGE? He said it would not effect the damping of echo enough to make a difference: he was sort of structurally adamant about the limiter as I mentioned I didn’t want to much “ deadness” in room with full carpeting.
However, as I just finished listening a little while ago- the Sound now on good program sources is indeed excellent; but some percussion instruments in rear depth of image behind front wall with flutes also seem to still have a bit of extra “ reverb “ or echo

I had a room somewhat similar to this and found placing the system on the long wall worked excellently. Had the speakers about 9 feet apart, around 2.5 ft. from the back wall, and my chair about 9 ft. from the speakers, give or take.

If your speakers are 2.5 feet from the back wall they must be behind you then?

Good catch. Was thinking about where I was sitting and the wall behind the speakers.
