I'm troubleshooting a Technics SU-V4 amp. Does anyone know if I can remove the modules and just replace with a pair of resistors like in the modules for pioneers ?? Stk0005 I think??
Oh, the title is messed up, it's actually a STK8050

I think the sub for resistors is just to get the unit to come on and out of protect. This is the main power amp stage, so it wont provide any meaningfull power without this IC.

I'm still troubleshooting a short somewhere and want to remove the packs so they don't short out themselves?

If you remove the packs, I would do them just 1 at a time, and you will probably find your short, as these packs are known to short.. Or check for short between pins 1 and 2, as well as 4 to 5. Pins 2 to 3 should read around 0.5 ohms, and pin 3 to pin 4 should read the same 0.5 ohms.
