Strobe Disk Light Source

rated based on what though? Unless someone has actually measured the strobe frequency for accuracy the rating doesn't really mean a whole bunch. Would also be nice to know if its equally accurate on every phone.

I'd never make it as a mathematician. I don't like variables.
 
The neon bulbs arrived, and I placed a pair of 1/4 watt 3.6k ohm resistors in parallel on one lead-soldered everything up, including a spare lamp cord and plug. I put the assembly in a small square clear tube, and tested-works great. Nice and bright, and the contrast of the markings is high-easy to see the drift (if any-and I did find a bit, except on my PL 707-which was dead on).
