Stylus Tracking Force Gauge - Recommendations?

Digital or mechanical? I have an American Weigh digital (forget what part number) but look thru their site, the "Matchbox" series is great as they are thin but batteries don't last long enough -- get one that takes 2. Needs to have a stainless platter if you are using MC type carts though. I love mine.

I ordered one of these after reading this, it arrived today. It's a nice little scale, i like being able to verify what I get on the Shure. I was really surprised to see how stable the digital was, it is also spot on with what Shure is telling me. Thanks for the recommendation :thmbsp:

I'd highly recommend a UK Metrosound/Metrocare stylus balance gauge from the 1970's. I've been told these were really manufactured by Micro Seiki of Japan on Metrocare's behalf. Very simple, accurate and enjoyable to use. I wouldn't want to use a new cheap chinese made digital stylus gauge. Take your time and enjoy it... after all, that's what vinyl's all about :thmbsp:
