Subscriber membership. What is it and how do you become one

Access to all of the forums in The Subscriber's Section:
  1. Auctions for Audiokarma
  2. Back Alley Pub (where subscribers can hang out and discuss things)
  3. Barter Town (where you can buy or sell items)
  4. RSD, Meet-up Buy & Sell, Swap-table, Group Buys (RSD is Record Store Days)
The ability to edit your own posts is indefinite, instead of 48? (I think) hours for non-subscribers.

And, as BmWr75 pointed out, additional benefits in the first post on page 1.

I had this same question as OP.
Would it make sense to update Post #1?

I am now subscribing to help with AK updates, but had to wonder what else a subscription might offer.
I am very happy with self that I thought to check from "last posts" forward for additional information. :cool:

As I have been away for many years, words like "Back Alley Pub"and "Barter Town" have meanings only imagined. Is there a place where the purpose and function of these interesting sounding places are "officially" described from an AK point of view?

Very looking forward to engaging, now past kids and career.

That would be something an Admin or Moderator would do. I'm neither one of those.

The descriptions in my post are succinct, but convey the gist of what goes on in those areas. The Back Alley Pub is similar to discussion areas in the rest of the forum, but less moderated (however, subscribers still have to follow Audikarma's rules when posting).

Barter Town (BT) is an area where subscribers can buy or sell items. Rules for participating in BT are listed on the first page.

There is a forum in the AK Audio Market Place(Barter Town Preview) to give members who haven't subscribed a view of what BT is..

And just to add, subscribers also give stuff away in BT.. Great karma..

BAP has to be experienced to truly understand it.. even now, I don't always understand it.. :beerchug:
 
Subscribing does not stop these pop up ads that seem common now as compared to when I was visiting more regularly a few years ago?

I mean I may subscribe again anyway, but still would be a nice feature. I get these ads within the first few minutes that require you to go look or close out before you can continue. I am in iOS and Safari, and moving to Ecosia.

Now why in the world would you want to become a subscriber? Well, first it helps to keep the site afloat. Secondly you are getting Gobs of good stuff for your money.

Increase PM capacity to 1500 ( 150 for Reg members )
Increase picture storage to 200 meg ( Reg members get 30 meg )
User Album, 2.5 megabytes
Ability to delete your posts
larger signatures
Change color of name
Use of animated gifs
Set yourself to be invisible to the rest of the board.

This will be tweaked and additional features may be added in the future.

Can i sign up for subscriber and pay by visa credit card? or is that feature not available right now. I do not have paypal.

Once you hit Subscribe and it takes you to the PayPal page theres a optiont to pay with credit card
