Subwoofer JBL

Hello

I'm planning to build something with my JBL W15GTI, for music and movies. For reason of space, I need a compact box, so I'm going to use a sealed enclosure with EQ to increase the low frequency response to 25Hz. I have used this on other occasions and I like the result.

This is only a draft, 25mm MDF for the box, 25+16mm for the front. The bracing is 19mm Plywood. Internal volume without driver and bracing: 61 litres.

It will be powered with a Yamaha PC2602M, each channel connected to a coil (dual mono) or in bridge mode with the coils wired in series. It will be a long running project ...

Way too small. That speaker wants at least 4 cu feet.

I speak from experience because I use one for a sub powered by 800 watts bridged (Crown) into the 12 ohm load.

6 cu ft for the 2235 and 4 cu ft for the W15GTi in the center speaker cabinet.

That is a ported box. Using a closed box with EQ you can use a smaller one, at the cost of loosing low-end efficiency and max output

Hello

Project finished. It sounds amazing :)

Very nice work and gives me hope that I can one day find room for a sub in my space! Thanks for sharing.
