Hi.
I have to monoblocks that I once built for speakers that needed only two channels. Now I have Infinity IRS Epsilon, which needs four. I was first thinking of using my previous blocks with the woofers, but the monoblocks are hybrids with tubes driving mosfets... the tubes seem to react with the servo control and create a rather annoying hum. It also reacts very much to cellphones. The monoblocks are silent and friendly without the Servo Control.
I am now thinking of moving the amplifier boards from the monoblocks into a cabinet with smaller power supply and use them as a stereo amplifier.
The monoblock cabinets are then free with a toroidal 1000VA transformer, (50V AC out) and 6x10000mF which then turns into +/- 70 Volt DC.
My question is: is there any amplifier modules that would fit here? It will only be running the woofers under 150 Hz. It can be class D I suppose. But then my big monoblock cabinets will be a bit excessive...
