sx-1250 AM antenna Missing

If the antenna is missing then attaching something to the screw terminal in the lower left corner won't help anything since that terminal is wired through the missing antenna bar.
You'll have to connect to the appropriate wires that used to be on the antenna bar.
i understand what you are saying. But my question is, where can a find an antenna bar? The part # for this bar is only for a SX-1250. I am wanting to know if a bar with the same color code will be adequate?
Search the big auction site for Pioneer antennae that may fit the bill.
Then look at the service manual for that particular model to see how it's wired, like above.
Then see if there's a way you can attach it to your unit.

Thank you for the help. For me im not worried about how to attach the antenna to the unit. My question is of the antenna itself. Are these antennas so different in their internal component structure that wiring in one from a let say sx-750 be an issue? I just dont know what is in the internals of an am antenna stick.
They are pretty much the same. Unfortunately the schematics only list wire colors for AM.
Hopefully the wiring is still present where you can figure out what goes where.

The part number for the SX-1250 antenna rod is ATB-051. It's next-closest cousin, uses an ATB-050. Note that both of these part numbers are for the antenna rod only. They also require the W72-092 antenna holder assembly. It's been my experience that same-series AM antennas are generally interchangeable. Those slight differences in part numbers (ATB-050 versus ATB-051) usually denote differences in lead wire length. Usually, when an AM bar antenna gets ripped off, the lead wires are still attached to the various terminals inside the receiver cabinet. Hopefully yours still are. If so, a simple matching of wire colors is all that's necessary. If not, a schematic of the SX-1250 (and the donor unit, if possible) will be needed for wire-to-pin matching. Thanks a ton! I do have the correct holder assembly from an old parts bin I acquired. The antenna was cut flush, so all the wiring is present

You're very welcome. When I wrote about the "next-closest cousin", I neglected to mention I was talking about the SX-1050. If you're looking for a same-series replacement antenna rod, I would try to stay in the upper echelon of that series, just to be safe. Maybe from an SX-950 or SX-1050. There may be others here on AK who have done more of these replacements who can specifically advise what antenna rods can be cross-swapped.
