SX 780 Repair help.

So I have had a good clean sx780 for months now and I love it. I moved recently and set it up and it worked fine. I noticed awhile ago that the stk 0050 was going for the right channel but it was still working at the time. After a few days, it made a pop and shut off. I took it apart and noticed that the 4 fuse had popped. So I got replacements and also replaced the stk 0050 that appear to be real. The receiver would not turn on before I swapped those and now it does turn on and I get active AM and FM tuning. However, no sound is going out and the relay is not switching. I have looked at the park that people say is the issue for this and I went through and resoldered them but they look fine. I can't see any other problems with the board or the fuses or anything else. I can post photos if you want to see what I have done so far. But I have no idea what could be the problem and I really can't afford to send it in.

Take DC voltage readings at the module pins. Use the chassis as the ground. Cover the exposed red probe tip leaving only the very tip exposed. This will help prevent a short if the probe slips.

I do not have one of those but I can get one. Anything else I should do first?

So I tested it and this is what I got on one of the packs.

the right to left

  1. 40.8
  2. 41.3
  3. -36.1
  4. 41.3
  5. 39.5
  6. 0
  7. -39.8
  8. -41.2
  9. -40
Thoughts?

you are missing a pin when reading them ..left to right facing writing pins down . 1234567890 .
456 are unused .

both those packs appear to be bad .
I reinstalled one of the old working packs and I still get no sound and no click. So I have no idea what I should do. I can try to contact the ebay seller and let them know that the parts are bad. I can not seem to figure out what is going on I don't want to buy stk 0050 again only to have them not work again.

remove both and add resistors as stated above .then take voltage readings .
p.s it wont click the relay if a bad pack is in circuit .
there are now kits available to replace the packs . call it an upgrade plus it works ..

You can troubleshoot the pre and driver stages of the amp without the modules installed.
You can add a 1K resistor between 0 and 8, and between 1 and 3. And run it. This will simulate the modules installed.
Check the emitter resistors for value then power up and check the amps transistor voltages.

Do the above task.
See if the relay will engage.
The emitters are the big white ceramic resistors near the modules. They should show around .800 ohms or so.
The forum assumes you do some research on your own.
There are hundreds of past posts on this issue. Search google, for an example: "Pioneer sx-780 modules blown Audiokarma".
