Symdex Sigma Omega Combo

I remember going to listen to the Sigmas at an audio place on Commonwealth Ave. Upstairs, not the place in the Hancock Center (which was a fun place to visit, too). Good sound, but without the subwoofer, not full range enough to justify the price - I was cheap even then. And I had a pair of Fried Qs, and was getting a pair of IMF TLS 50s, so felt I was doing okay speakerwise.
Are you referring to the former Tech Hi Fi which then turned into Spearit audio?

If anyone is keeping score on the design, the little black box positioned next to the tweeter behind all the fluff is the cap/filter for the tweeter.
the inductor is hand-wound inside the woofer enclosure. The coil is soldered directly to the terminals and to the woofer and wound on an 8mm video reel. Not kidding.

I'm following a little bit. Partly out of general interest, but I have a pair of similar Audax woofers in nice cabinets mated to the little TW74 cone/dome tweeter. I'm not blown away by the top end of that combination, but I happen to have one HD12x9D25 so if I find another one...

THF2 - I seem to remember the place being called Goodmans, but I don't have a lot of confidence in that memory. I'm pretty sure that it was upstairs. I should have been clearer about the location - it was on Copley Square, not down Comm Ave, but it wasn't in the ground floor of the Hancock - that was an interesting store with a more than usually knowledgeable owner - he designed a small stand speaker that fit in the corner, which imaged wonderfully and was surprisingly full range despite its modest dimensions. Obviously it was triangular, but the large dimension was horizontal - it wasn't a column, and it needed a stand. He was going to sell it under the name Triad, but it turned out there was another company that already owned the name. I lost track after that.

Ahhhh…got it.

You are referring to Goodwins!

You are correct! They seemed to have good stuff, but I was only there once - not sure why. Are they still around?

Yes,

Many of the most excellent people that they have came from Spearit Audio on Comm. Ave. which closed in 2017.

Listening to these tonight. Amp is now a Scott lk-72. Sound is awesome. The Scott offers tone control which the agi did not. Just really nice sounding.
