I have to agree with @ronrico as you really need to let your ears decide vs. the wallet. Case in point right now for me is I have a set of Tannoy Arden's I purchased to restore, and then decided to buy a set of L250Ti's from @jblnut because I have a terrible sickness of wanting audio gear lol.
I personally love the sound of Tannoy and figured that since the Devon's were so amazing I wanted the bigger ones. The JBL's have had me on and off for years, I've had some really nice high end pieces. Case in point JBL L65(Jubal), JBL Minuet, JBL L200, JBL C40 (Harkness), JBL Belair (D44216), JBL 4211, and so on. As of now I have the 250Ti's and I'm going to give them a listen and see what I think. I've been an Altec/Klipsch guy for many years and have had several pairs of both brands.
You'll know which one is the right choice, bring a reference CD or any material you know well. That will help you decide what you should get more than anything.
