Hi all,

I'm new here and very new to turntables, I found a little taya cp-300 at a pawn shop for 30 bucks, it's in beautiful shape but can't find any info on the net about. Is it a decent brand for starting out with?

Thanks

Welcome to the AK turn table forum.

Solid work horse made by CEC-Chou Denki of Japan.

Taya was a Toshiba brand/label.

Very similar to the Realistic R-8010.

I would say the internal mechanism are exactly like the Realistic. They are nice starter tables, that's for sure. A good serving, a new belt, potential new motor mounts with a stylus and you're good to go!

Thank you so much for the reply and info. I'm glad it will be a good brand to start with. It is very similar to that realistic tt for sure. Thanks again for the info!! I look forward to being on this forum page.
Cheers
