Technics Overhang Gauge

On my PL120 I use a 1/4" rubber mat that came with my KAB SL1200 - it helps and IMO sounds better

What did you set on your VTA? I was planning on getting the 1200 rubbermat. Maybe someday. Right now i'm using a diy cork matt. I did tried using the supplied matt and the diy cork matt i made but i didn't like what i hear. I'll try to test it again. Although even with supplied matt and my diy cork matt the headshell is still lower than the tonearm tail even at zero! Weird!

A great table/cart combo to start with... sounds nice and warm... don't use the USB or internal phono... add your own, and you'll be upgrade ready, specially if you go the vintage Technics route, since you can reuse headshells and the cart is also a good match for those...

I'm going to look for the shure cart online. Hopefully i could find online retailer that can ship to Iran.
I've read your old thread, it seems like you used the 52mm overhang before. Is there a huge improvement from 52mm to 53mm overhang? I'll try it in a few days!

By the way, i'm just using the turntable for playback. Never tried the usb for recording. Right now i'm using ART DJ pre and this combo sounds good to my ears with just a powered speaker! I'm now trying to get a NAD amp to match a BX2 speaker for the setup. I can't wait! So far so good. Never thought that this turntable will sound good even with a few flaws and widely hated turntable online. LoL
