Technics SA-R530 - No sound

Hello, first post here.

I recently bought an SA-R530 from goodwill. It turns on, the EQ syncs with the music playing, and everything appears to be working correctly.

The problem is, I can't get it to output at all. I have tried the main, remote, and surround channels and nothing. I even plugged a set of headphones into the jack.

I popped the top cover off to inspect and there is nothing glaringly wrong. No visible damage.

Any tips on what could cause this? Am I missing something?

Does it have pre-out jacks on the back that need a jumper? It'll look like this. Also make sure Tape Monitor not depressed.

Since both speakers and headphones are out it could be the relay.
We should check:
1) It gets enough voltage to work. Do you hear a click a few seconds (5-10s) after you turn on the amp?
2) It connects through when it gets voltage applied. Check resistance through it.

What relay are you referring to? There is a relay that clicks after I turn it on. That one?
 
Once that's done we can check the Power Supply and the Power Amps for both channels.
Btw, vacuum out the dust.

That box says SVI 3205. That relay you are talking about is the one you are thinking off. The power relay?
 
The relay is for Speaker (and headphone) protection. If it doesn't work no sound will come out.
SVI 3205 if the Power Amp module. Same thing there, if it's broken you won't get any sound out.

How do I test the relay? It clicks when I turn the unit on.

I have been led to believe that it might be the SVI unit. Do you know how I could test that to verify it is the cause?
 
You should measure the resistance on the pins for the through connection to make sure you actually have connection through.
If we know the model number we can get hold of the pinout.

We'll use this to check what the Power Amp module is up to. Could be that it doesn't get power even though it's more likely it's dead.
