Technics SA-R530 - No sound

Another way to see if that SVI chip is bad is to simply grab another amplifier and connect pins 13 and 15 to the aux inputs of the other amplifier. Turn the aux amp all the way down and then turn on the Technics and tune in a station and adjust volume to 2.

With a pair of speakers on the the aux amplifier, you should hear the Technics radio coming from the aux amplifier.

Usually like 9 times out of 10, the SVI chip is bad and needs to be replaced.

Tehcnically with this connection, you are just basically using the Technics as a preamp where pins 13 and 15 are the pre outs.

10 is odd, should be same as 7. Maybe incorrect reading or soldering is bad?
17 is off. We should check the capacitor at that pin. Could potentially be C613. Can you take a picture of the board next to the STK without all the dust?

No worries.

It could absolutely be a bad reading on my part. I will get a picture of that board today.
 
Pin 3 should be 0v… as should be 6
pin 18 should be -13 v or so after 4 sec

no voltage at pin 10… check -15V regulator circuit
 
Invariably to the transistors on the heatsink next to power ic… usually +15v -15v and a +5V regs there… check them on each side of power ic… often dry joints lurk around them
