Technics sl 1200 mk 2 makes high pitched noise every 1.5 hours?

I am working on a sl 1200 mk 2 for someone and they claim that it periodically make a high pitched noise every 1.5 hours or so. I have been listening to it for about 2 hours now and can't seem to recreate it. Nor can I really think of a way that would happen in the first place. I assume it's the pre amp or amplifier but the person claims they are currently using the same setup with a different sl 1200 and that they aren't having any issues with this one. Any thoughts on this?

Have you attempted to duplicate the issue at the owner's house? That's where I would start...

I wonder if something in the house happens every so often that sends out EMF interference. Not likely a heater at this time of year but maybe a pump or a freezer running intermittently.

No not yet, they said they had issues with it on their radio show. I am now waiting for a recording of the sound which they claimed to have.

Not sure, currently trying it with the cartridge that supposedly had the issue (ortofon concorde pro headshell plus cartridge in one) and it sounds just fine.

That's what I initially thought as well but since they are using the exact same setup now and don't have the issue I don't really know. Maybe the shielding in the cable for the other sl 1200 they have is better?

i would swap the cartridges first and go from there . when you get the audio track it would be good if you can share it . high frequency could be feedback .
if swapping carts and cables don't cure it then i might look at the suspension .
saying all that if it isnt happening for you .unless its only with a particular sound track .

Ok so I got the audio recording, I skimmed through it and couldn't really find anything of note. Apparently the sound wasn't every 1,5 hours but it was noticeable in the recording irregularly after the 30 minute mark.

I did notice some static ish sounds around the 39-40 mark but to me it just sounds like static from the record and or a dirty stylus.

I've gone past 40 minutes and haven't heard anything out of the ordinary. Only heard the rare "pop" or two, which could be attributed to the recording itself.

I had my turntable setup on the opposite side of the wall from where my new refrigerator was. Every so often and pretty regularly, I would get a high pitched tone coming through my turntable. I tried turning off everything in the house to find it. Router, cell phones, smart TV, etc. Nothing stopped it. Then one day playing records I noticed a very faint noise coming from the kitchen in between
tracks. Then the sound came back. Then a few minutes later, a sound from the kitchen and the noise was gone. I unplugged the refrigerator and the noise stopped popping up. I had to move my system away from that wall to another wall about 6' away and couldn't hear it anymore. My guess is it's environmental.
