please all .... if you look carefully at the heatsink closest to the transformer ... i'm convinced i can se a thin white line, and the angles on the transistors
![]()
it's not a mirror from the heatsink![]()
Look at those over the main filter caps...
Or more coffee. <grin>Have to say - that is a point to be taken. Apparently i need new glasses![]()

SanKen transistors are not that thick![]()

The output stage, two parameters Pararerupusshupuru connected transistors used in high voltage, three-stage configuration Darlington
150W +150 W (6Ω) had achieved great output. Power unit supporting this high power output stage, low ESR
(Equivalent Series Resistance) electrolytic capacitors for smoothing equipped with × 4, from the full rectifier design is taken independent of L • R
Interference between channels are shut. 300A was the instantaneous current capability is secured. In addition, power transformer, using oxygen-free copper wire windings 20% compared to conventional transformers to curl over a thick line density, which incorporates a full alignment adopted its own winding, windings, the magnetic shield case in the total weight of 3, was sealed with a special resin to reduce mechanical vibrations.
Hi SammyMac - we have apparently had a lot of fun here - trying to figure out things - and i, for one, really thought there where 8 transistors pr channel. That might have given some kind of reason to claim the 80Amp in the description from HDT -
And - maybe i need new stroner glasses, or more strong coffee, but i tricked my eyes into beliveing i could see all 8 transistors,
technically speaking, it seems strange they can force twice the current through the output transistors without them blowing up, so maybe the 80Amp description is both channels ?? I can tell
bottomline : if you feel you got value for the money (upgradewise) - that is fine, it was born as a 110wpc/8ohm - so 180wpc in 4 Ohm load is ok ....
Hey Jan

....off topic, do you know of the Jensen capacitors, they are danish made. They would be great upgrades i was thinking if i wanted like 10000uf x cappies, someday![]()
Infact the 2SA1494 / 2SC3858 are the sucessor of what you have in the V909, every spec, same gain same Current same Voltage same Power, i don't know why the numbers changed, may have to be due to a new Epitaxial Planar substrate, only SanKen could answer that in a hurry
