Telefunken Hymnus 5014 WK

So, I'm looking in to the wide world of capacitors and its honestly a little overwhelming. Im willing shell out 'some' money on some fancy caps but I have 2 main questions.

1. This being my first project, what caps(brand/material) are good enough for the job?

2. If I use fancy caps at the end of the circuit will they be bottlenecked by the less fancy ones? In other words, do all the caps have to be of the same grade?

39 cent polycarbonate (Mylar) film caps are fine. Axial type (like the originals) fit better. Polypropylene are generally larger, but might fit. They do have some superior characteristics, not that it matters at audio frequencies. Use 630V for film caps, 450V for electrolytics (there are also a few lower voltage ones, and a few non-polar ones for the crossovers). There's likely a large electrolytic can, which can be replaced with leaded types, though you'd need to add a terminal strip for the connections.
