Yes! I saw the Auditorium Zappa show that got him kicked for life. I saw Alvin Lee again solo in the 90's or early 00's at The Cubby Bear Lounge near Wrigley. Small venue and great show. What a virtuoso!!

Wow, Alvin at the Cubby Bear! Been there a few times.

A few shows I attended at The Auditorium in the early to mid-seventies maybe you caught some of these also. . . Zappa, King Crimson '73 & '74, Hawkwind with the 3 hour long Space Ritual concert in '73, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, Weather Report, Wishbone Ash, many others! Loved that place.

Sampled some but haven’t had a chance to hear the entire catalog.

Sadly, where I grew up, I only got to hear ‘I’d love to change the world”. It may have been popular but didn’t indicate the much better music they made.

I find that a lot. Some of the best music never makes it to popular venues like air play. Pity.

I am spending time back in my childhood location and surprisingly, a couple radio stations are playing decent old school rock. At least they are covering a larger range than I hear back in Seattle.

Sad, really, how much great music just ages away.

They put out some timeless records. "A Space In Time" was also a very good recording. Take a critical listen, very impressive. Cricklewood Green was another killer album. I wasn't too enthralled with the "tear your head off" guitar work of some of their albums but concede that's what the public wanted, so be it.
