They put out some timeless records. "A Space In Time" was also a very good recording. Take a critical listen, very impressive. Cricklewood Green was another killer album. I wasn't too enthralled with the "tear your head off" guitar work of some of their albums but concede that's what the public wanted, so be it.

A Space in TIme and Rock and Roll Music to the World turned me on to TYA and are still my favorites. Of course I knew of the Woodstock recordings but I got into their earlier work afterwords, yes notably Cricklewood Green. I have since become very appreciative of A. Lee's solo blues recordings. "The Bluest Blues" comes to mind.

I was at the Commack Arena LI NY in 75 when they taped Peter Frampton for the Fampton comes Alive album.I was there for the headliner Ten Years After. Great show

Saw TYA in 72 in Detroit. He played till the lights came on. Shortly after they did he hit a note and set the guitar against a amp and walked off the stage as the feedback note just sat there and screamed. What a finish.

I really do need to get a M- LP of A Space in Time. That album has always escaped me - one of these days.

TYA (Elvis) - helluva "live" act and issued several excellent studio LPs and a few "legend status" numbers, e.g., "I'd Love To Change The World". They also showed "real well" @ Woodstock Festival, 1969, to a crowd of 500G most of whom hadn't a clue as to their oeuvre ... which of course changed after Woodstock and especially the Woodstock film @ which TYA were featured prominently @ their performance of "I'm Going Home", the number Alvin considered a blessing and curse for the remainder of his career, which ended on an operating table in Spain.

nb: When you're in Spain and find that you're sick enough to require surgery, HEAD FOR FRANCE!
