The "$250" Amp? - 6LU8 Compactron SE, UL

Cool little caps

I scored 10 of these 5uF, 370AC Motor Run caps for cheap on ebay. I should be able to use these to experiemnt with values (+/- 2.5uF).

The're really small - check out the photo

Yah gotta' love modern materials.

That is the 6T9 amp I built that was mentioned earlier. It's a very easy build, the PCB is cheap and high quality. Sounds very good. I would like to compare it head to head with the 6LU8 at some point.

Forget those waveforms. That thing probably sounds GREAT. I still want to build one just have too much to do lately.

Looks great....and an interesting project too boot!!
Can anyone give me a line on an inexpensive power Xformer & two OT's??

THANKS!!
Steve

A top plate is in the works. No posting has been done because it's in final development, and the parties are communicating privately. Expect a final product soon, before year's end for sure.

The nice thing about this design is that it's adaptable to a 12at7/6ab4 front end, and an el84/6v6/el34/6l6 back end with little to no modification. If nothing else, the power supply is a very beefy place to to start an RH807/RH84, and the Edcors are a fine place to end one.
