The Basic Turntable Setup Video - a new version

Great video. It answered a lot of questions I had on properly setting up my Pioneer PL-510A turntable. For whatever reason it always sounded like something was not right... I watched your video a few times, and got one of those digital scales from Amazon and used it to set up my table. Wow!...there is so much more life to my music now. Love the way it sounds. Took me a few trys, but the final outcome was amazing. I thank you sir....

I am really glad ...I was there..got past and figured, others will be there too...

Happy when I see someone get RESULTS

Very nice ... I just watched the whole video segment. I liked Michael Freemer’s DVD but I thought you were a bit more concise. I don’t always appreciate Freemer’s sense of humor or the way he drags on.

Protractor and stylus force gauge … got it.

Every question answered so it can be understood ... Excellent ...

Question - Hanging skate weights with knotches, how does one know what knotch defines what weight?

I know that the Project Debut Carbon has 3 notches which have weights assigned to them. 1 (10-14nm), 2 (15-19) and 3 (20nm<)

I guess it would depend on the brand of TT and tone arm. Hope that helps.

glad it helped

Generally, you can find the user manual at vinyl engine. Otherwise, I can't tell you the values but the further away, the heavier..

You sir, are KING!:thmbsp::thmbsp::thmbsp::thmbsp::thmbsp::thmbsp:
You even show how to use the alignment tool, the very thing that always knocks me to the ground pulling my hair out. Bless you!!!!:thmbsp::thmbsp:
Thank you for doing this, I mean it!:music:

Rob,
I just watched your video and although it did not teach me anything I didn't already know, it was very well done. This should be required viewing for any newbie that has never set up a table before. The only thing I might add is...nothing. :D Nice job. :thmbsp:

Excellent video Rob. I have that alignment protractor, and after watching your video, re-checked alignment, and spot on. Great job on this video, i enjoyed it very much.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm planning to purchase a turntable and dig out my old vinyl ... this was an excellent education.

Watched the video and followed the motions to set up my SL-1200 MKII. My first time setting a turntable up. WOW !!!!!

What a difference !

Thanks,
