The Best Vintage DD Turntables $200 to $250

I know I may be a little late to the question, but I see SL-1200's in this area all the time in great shape for $250. I saw 3 of them yesterday on CL for $250. I picked mine up with about 250 LPs and a preamp for $300... That was like getting the table for free..

Hi Ed,
I'm new to this group and have only been reading to find out more about the units I own or what units I would like to own at some point. I see you have a Technics SL-1700mk1. Where can I find that last piece after the 1700, mk1? From what I have found the model# is on top, SL-1700, on the back is a tag with this number SFNN170M01. From that can you or anyone tell me anything about it? It does not have a cartridge head or cartridge. I also have a JVC QL-Y3F and Philips GA312. The JVC is my main turntable although the cueing mechanism lifts and drops the arm too fast. In fact the needle sometimes seems to bounce on the record.
Please forgive me if I am asking inappropriate questions or asking in the wrong manner. I am here to learn.
Thank you and anyone else for your help.

The Technics SL-1700, does not say Mk1 on it. There was a Mk2 but the original was just that, an SL-1700. Nice tables though
