The.crush that got away

This crush was very kind and super sweet. Even though she was already taken by one of my classmates at the time (who I recently got back in touch with after many years), I distinctly remember she would give me a pack of those seaweed sheets every so often, and I would take a bite out of the whole pack of sheets like the dingus I was...also remember playing arm wrestling with my classmates including her. Good times were had.

For now though, I'd like to hear about your stories of "the crush that got away"
I didn't have a chance to catch up with any old crushes or girlfriends. I never saw any of them again. Maybe it is better for me to remember these females through rose-colored glasses (or no glasses) than to face reality and all its warts.

I looked at every woman I dated as going through a refinement process for choosing a lifelong mate. Each one taught me what I wanted, and didn't want, in regard to the person who would be my wife. In my early 30s I found the person I wanted to be with me for the rest of my life. The feeling was mutual and was an easy decision for both of us. Every person I had a relationship with previously lead me to this decision. I tell younger people I know that dating is a fact finding mission in regard to finding your sole mate. All it takes is patience, paying attention to the dynamics of the relationships you are in and knowing when you have found the person who will make you happy. It also takes knowing that you will never find the perfect person but you will find one that is perfect enough.
