You have a nice little collection there. I just listened to Get It a few hours ago. What a tremendous record, and what an incredible band. :tresbon:

Many thanks for the compliment. Yes, that’s my writing. I was a copyeditor at All Music for close to two years, and toward the end of my tenure there, they asked me if I wanted to do some writing. I jumped at the chance. I wrote about ten reviews, including some about Johnny Thunders and the Only Ones. If you want, check those out. I don’t think much of my writing personally, but I’m glad when others enjoy it! :D

I liked it. Admittedly, it showed a bit more enthusiasm that some of the others reviews I've read on Allmusic, but that's a good thing. In my workaday world, I run into far too many people who can't write worth a damn. More and more, I've come to appreciate anything well written, and your piece was well written. Respect.:thmbsp:

Don't forget Sabre Dance

Just stumbled across this thread and glad to know I'm not alone. I saw Rockpile in concert in Hamburg, Germany -- a show recorded for German TV. Also saw him on a strange tour in San Francisco with Kim Andrews, Dion, Graham Parker and others. I loved "I hear you knockin'" in high school and have been a fan since. One of my top favorites is Sabre Dance -- that man can play.
My collection includes Love Sculpture -- The Classic Tracks, Tracks on Wax 4, Subtle as a Flying Mallet, Repeat as Necessary, Twangin', Information (ok, but would like to hear a version produced by Nick Lowe rather than Jeff Lynne), Get It, D.E. 7th and Riff Raff.

Another Dave Edmunds fan here. I have been fortunate to see him a number of times, the last time being in Madison, WI in 1994. I also got to see him with Graham Parker and Dion, which was a great show. Would love to see one more new album. I believe that he also played on Nick Lowe's first two albums.

Great thread, I'm in the middle of a vinyl upheaval right now, but I'll try to pull my DE records and get some snaps tomorrow or so. I have lots, love the guy!

In the meantime, here's an excerpt from "Born Fighters", the Rockpile movie. You can watch the whole thing in segments via youtube.

Been a huge fan of Dave Edmunds even before I knew it. I became consciously aware of him when "Subtle as A Flying Mallet" came out in '75 and then later realized he did "You Keep A Knockin'", which was a fav of mine on the radio when I was 13 or 14. Never heard a release of his I didn't like, but will agree that "Repeat When Necessary", "Trax On Was" and "Seconds of Pleasure" are all stellar.

My love of Dave Edmunds music goes back to 1970's "I Hear You Knockin'." My favorite DE song now is "Get Out of Denver" from his 1977 Get It album. I like all his albums.

I'm in vinyl unboxing/moving/filing/organizing mode right now, but did dig out a few 7" PS treats for the other DE fans.... will dig out the 12"ers soon I hope!

No one makes greater covers than DE. Almost Saturday Night , Girls Talk, and Crawling from the Wreckage are so good you'd think they were the original! I Hear You Knocking is definitely one of my favorite songs of all time!

Just snagged this for a couple of euros from a second hand bin. Vinyl in great shape. I'm a happy man!
