I like him in Missing Persons. And holy cow, I had no idea his kit was that big! He's got Neil beat there! (Neil has trimmed down a lot though since the 70's and early 80's).
But this isn't yet another "best of" list?

Neil is on the cover of Drum! magazine this Oct.; might be a good read for the drummers out there. It should mention, for one thing, that most of the drumming on Clockwork Angels is improvised/first take which is once again astonishing because the drumming is so stellar and Neil is not used to/does much care for improv (which he fully admits) being as perfectionistic as he is. So he changed his way of doing things, once again; after all these decades he's still learning/willing to alter his approach.

Rolling Stone: 100 Greatest Drummers. He Bozzio only made #5. Peart made #1. I'm not a fan of RS whatsoever though. Wednesday, Sept 12th Bozzio turned 62.

Is that list right? According to RS's site http://www.rollingstone.com/music/pictures/rolling-stone-readers-pick-best-drummers-of-all-time-20110208 he's #3. That is the reader's poll though: is the other some "official" RS list?
I can't see RS giving Rush or anyone from Rush #1 for anything ever (except maybe their most over rated designation). Hell, they didn't even grant Rush the "privilege" of interviews until the mid 2000's afaik. (Which Rush, in a show of magnanimity which I doubt I would of displayed, has granted them several times even after years of RS's abuse and refusal to even acknowledge their existence, which, I might add, is STILL going on in their "reviews" of their new albums; hell look at this insulting comment on Neil's entry at #3 towards Rush fans: "To Rush's army of fans any name at the top of this list other than Neil Peart is surely sacrilegious..." Oh please! I could care less who gets where in any list; it's all subjective, and, in fact, well, see below

It demeans them.But not by Neil! Iirc Moon and Buddy Rich were the two biggest influences on him, at least in his early days. He's even played on a few tributes to Buddy in fact.

I got and wore out All The World's A Stage on cassette back in the 70s.
Next I got 2112 and have had everything from RUSH through Signals on LP & CD as they became available.
YYZ being nominated for a Grammy was no surprise.
