The Name That Album thread

The album in play was released in 1963
A keyboard called a Musitron contributed a unique sounding (at the time) solo in the biggest hit from this lp.

Released a few months ago. Alt country is what wiki says.

I hear John Linnell, Bob Mould and the dude from Clem Snide when he sings.

When it's the 4th of July one should be doing this.

MJ Lenderman - Manning Fireworks
found it yesterday with the first clues posted. Couldn't post and I guess that no one else can today

I'm pretty sure that this cover has not been posted before. There are, I think just 2 cover variations for this release. This is the less famous one

Various – Almost Famous Soundtrack

I don't know if I just knew that by to looks of it, or if maybe it was posted before?
I don't know. Like I said, I did a search - nothing. It's definitely been talked about in this thread. Thanks for the fast solve though!

Here it is again

New wave/Alternative, mid 80’s.
North America release. Combo of material from 2 UK releases, can’t quite call it a compilation.
Cover art is very similar to one of those releases.

And to add a clue from my first ‘lost’ post: The name of label that they are on, although being a real word, came from a combination of the names of the two guys who formed it.

I am assuming it's not on Stax, named for Jim Stewart and Estelle Axton...
