The one watt lie….

Oh, I'm not really trying bust anyone's balls for their choice in speakers. It was more about glass houses and throwing stones.

The subject was a general statement about a 5 watt amp which I don think Klipsch ever produced. How you can relate that to Klipsch speakers, mods and glass houses makes no sense.

I like pi watts. But then I can never figure out exactly where to set the volume knob...

IME, in my set-up, using K-horns, the sweet spot is 13 tube watts. Nice full sound.

The point of this thread is kinda pointless! Everyone has different needs and expectations! Who cares?! :dunno:Just sayin’.

Exactly. We all have different listening spaces. We all listen at different volumes. There will never be any agreement. But I 100% disagree with the original statement that you can't have a "full sound" without a lot of power. It's a little bit harder but can be done if you know what you are doing.

Now carry on...

He put 300 watts on my sub from the factory.

Because of its size. The amplification needs of a small subwoofer and those of a large-volume cabinet high sensitivity horn speaker are at polar opposite ends of the power spectrum.
