After reading all the hype about 42-109 I decided it was worth $33.00 to try out. First one was a dud nothing but loud hum right channel barely any audio signal left ch. Seller refunded me and didn’t want it back. Meanwhile bought another for about the same price. Surprisingly it sounds better than the op amp based CNC MM. The first non working unit I was going to recap, but every one I pulled and measured still spot on. Also changed the transistors for the KSA1845’s. Nothing I’ve done has helped it. I’m beginning to believe something is up around the output phono jacks. It’s on the output side. Any attempt to dig in further would require ruining the front faceplate by design.
I will say I’ve only had the working one on just today and it sounds great to me. Not planning on changing a thing in it.

Bad soldier joint. Something told me I was going to have to carefully peel the faceplate off. Oh well got a recap as well.34CB5B7E-C824-4C5F-BF84-812742786888.jpeg7BEB841E-6CF8-479C-A997-F1F11CD1AFD7.jpeg9775A7BB-4A4D-4F40-A0E4-F19C54EAB0B3.jpeg7DD0C614-BDFD-4F6E-9955-91F8B8746E1E.jpeg
