my other half bought one of these for me today. Ebay. i want to use a cotton bud and put a tiny bit on my ear lobes . My ear hair grows at a tremendous rate. strange as it might sound. I Believe i can feel it growing. What i want to know though is when they write permanent hair removal on the jar. What does it specify. Thanks

Straight Razor wet shave on my Mellon since I got a bald spot in 1985 and refused to look like Galhager ,haven't put a razor to my face In years ,once I can pick yesterday's bacon out of my beard I know it's time for a trim & that's it .

Edge aerosol and whatever cheapest 2 or 3 blade disposables are easiest to hand in the supermarket is the fastest shave I've found. Don't like how fragile the 4 or 5 edge razors are, slightest damage from travel or whatever and they're liable to cut your face off.
My father tried to infect me with the shaving bug; he sounds like a religious fanatic over the badger brush and the shaving cream stirred up in the pot etc. Good friend of mine is the same way... shudder... My dad gave me a nice starter set of the fancy shaving stuff.. tried it... no time savings over the edge and cheapo razor, no apparent better cut either and time I'll never get back spent messing around with getting the cream going. OTOH a straight razor cut at a barber shop is substantially better, I really do like that.
Regardless you have to keep your razors away from the ladies or they'll use 'em on their legs etc then you might as well be shaving with a lawnmower. OTOH that might be an argument in favor of the badger brush stuff- the chicks being less likely to fiddle with it (how often have I found my empty edge can put back on the shelf???)

hmmmm...I shave in the shower. have done for years. use a bar of face soap to lather the face and shave with whatever razor happens to be at hand. The combination of hot shower and soap makes for a clean comfortable shave. I can tell the razor needs replacing by the closeness, or lack of, of the shave.

This AK member sent me a few blades from his stash, on the Big Island, to try on my face, at no charge/Free Shipping.
Billy is a true gentleman and knows his 'stuff' when it comes to wet shaving blades. After a few shaves with each, I'm a believer that the Lord Super Chromes and Voshkod blades are right up there amongst the sharpest with included ultra-smoothness. Running a very, very, very close second for me was the Supermax in blue followed up by the Balzano. I had used the Astras for a very long time and was dead-set on them, along with the Derby and Feather blades. However, I must honestly say that the aforementioned blades are in a total different class.
Realizing that everyone's face and shave techniques are different, one should at least give these blades a try. My impression is that you'll be quite pleased.

Without a doubt, my favorite DE blade now that I have settled on a mild blade reveal DE razor like the Merkur 34c. If you don't PUSH a Feather and let the blade do the work, these blades will rival the finest straight razor shave hands down. Push them in a razor that has an aggressive blade reveal and you will indeed provide yourself with the razor burn from hell. Lean to use them right and they are magnificent blades.

My pleasure. I should have sent you more Lords. I have tons but didn't bring any with me to the mainland on my last trip. I really like Lord blades. I discoverd them at Pasteur Pharmacy in NYC where Leon (the owner) urged me to try them. Did i ever post pics of Pasteur's Pharmacy in NYC? This place is wet shaving paradise. I can't remember what I posted, but here it is again;

All those badger hair brushes!
I know, right? That little pharmacy is amazing. 70 percent of his floor space is dedicated to shaving products for men. And he (Leon - the owner) is one heck of a nice guy. He's the owner/pharmacist, and he has NO problem coming out and saying hello to fans that go to his store to shop from afar or from NYC. He was blown away the first time I went there from Hawaii. He gave me a few nice gifts (no charge) for stopping in. And I spent a bundle too. How could I not?
Anyone that goes to NYC and is even remotely into wet shaving should stop in and give it a look-see. It's worth the trip.

NYC is just the best. I went there two years ago with SWMBO and that's when I took those pics of Pasteur Pharmacy. We decided to go to "Strawberry Fields" in Central Park to honor John Lennon as we are both Beatles fans. Then we walked to "Tavern on the Green" for a drink and some quick snacks. We sat at the bar and ordered Shrimp Cocktail. Honestly, it was the most delicious and incredible Shrimp either of us had ever tasted.
I mentioned to the bartender something like, "Sir, I'm well traveled. And honestly this is the BEST Shrimp Cocktail I have ever had in my life."
He retorted, "Of course. We're New York City. We get the BEST of EVERYTHING."
'Nuff Said I suppose.
Of course, the downside is that it can get a bit crowded. I wonder if people are still lining up outdoors in all weather just to see a movie? And you really get jammed in restaurants, even the nicest ones. Here's a new one called Veronika and it does look spiffy.

Used a Lord in my Merkur 34 with Cremo. Followed up with a cotton ball's worth of Thayers Lavender and then Nivea After Shave Lotion. A nice shave & darn close to 100% BBS.
My typical MO but like the Voskhod blades, too. So smooth they are.
One nice thing about shaving in Hawaii is your skin is always hydrated. One bad thing is you have to coat all straight razors with Camelia Oil or similar or they rust overnight.
I just finished my morning Sunday shave with a LORD Blade. I love these blades. And like you, I actually also used a Merkur 34 and Cremo. The only difference between you and me is you probably used regular Cremo and I've been using Cremo COOLING in the white/blue tube. The one with Menthol. Either one gives an amazing shave, I just prefer a cooling menthol shave lately. But the bottom line?....... As you say, darn near BBS.
I followed it up with Old Spice LIME Aftershave (imported from India). I typically use Stirling Soap Company's Orange Chill Aftershave, but today I was in a Lime mood.
