I once told a college English Professor the only reason the author wrote the book we were discussing was to make money not some silly esoteric improve the whole human race deep hidden meaning.

She asked me to leave. Which since I was paying to be there amused the hell out of me.

Sorry I could care less about proper grammar as long as I can understand what the person is trying to get across I'm happy.

In general, affect is a verb and effect is a noun.

Examples:

Eating and sleeping affects your health.

Happiness is an effect of listening to good speakers.

Now, for a more challenging topic: "toward" vs. "towards"--"toward" is typically used more in American English, while "towards" is used more in British english.

Additionally, avoid ending sentences with prepositions. For example:

Where did a topic like that come from? -- incorrect

From where did a topic like that come? -- correct

It does not take very long for all languages written or spoken to have major change over time. For me, I like the challenge of studying other languages and their variations.
So, I immediately noticed that you live in the USA "clydeselsor". If it was BURNS HARBOUR it will have to be England.:D:D:tresbon:
