These followed me home this weekend

I believe that Lafayette KT-550 is a Stu Hegeman design.

Yep. The KT-550 and the matching preamp were the predecessors to the H/K Citation I preamp and Citation II amp. The story goes that Stu Hegeman was forced out at Lafayette because it was taking too much time to tweak the design to his liking. They kicked him out the door and had someone else finalize it so they could actually bring a product to market. Hegeman then wandered over to H/K and developed the Citation line.

The Scott LK-150 is a bit of an odd duck, just because they are so rare. I have no idea why. It's a tough call as to whether the Lafayette or Scott is less common.
 
Just for yucks, I plugged those prices into an inflation calculator. In 2014 dollars, the kit form would set you back $1075, and the factory build would be a cool $1475, assuming that was the price in 1960. Not sure precisely when that ad is from.

Well these were not left to me, I paid for them, although I paid untested prices, most of the stuff is working fine, but I am having an issue with 1 of the 8b's, not getting any sound out of the speakers, just a slight hum, anybody have any ideas? All the tubes test strong.
 
You must have been giddy beyond belief when you saw all that stuff!

I have dreams about finding mother loads of gear at tag sales, then I wake up.:sigh:
 
I wish I could have taken more home, there was more to get, maybe next weekend if I can get up there before the Pats destroy the Seahawks.
 
Georgeousity! Just having that gear for looks alone is worth it. The sound of "Glass FETs" - something I aspire to hear some day. Congratulations on such a wonderful find.
