Thiels CS2 mint shape a guy wants $250.

Klipsch KG4 mint shape with original boxes and manual guy wants $200. I know this is a good deal. But what are these going for these days?

Around here $250 is a steal for the Thiel and the KG4 are about right, very worthwhile if in great shape.

I don't know about the Thiels, but $200 is at the low end of the KG4 price range. I'd say KG4s range from $175 (motivated seller, imperfect speakers) to perhaps as much as $400 with $250 about the normal going rate. More or less.

Chicago prices, good working condition...usually around $400 or a bit more for the CS-2s, $200-$250 for KG-4s. This is what I see them at on CL or at stores, I don't know if they actually sell for these prices. I've seen more KG-4s for less than $200 than I've seen CS-2s less than $400.

I think the Thiels might be 4ohm - if they are nything like the Thiel cs 3.5 I have they need a lot of high current clean power. I drive mine with CJ 200 wpc

I sold my Klipsch KG4s a couple months ago for $200 in the SF Bay Area. I had about 5 replies, maybe 2 serious ones.

the CS2 are 6ohms, more easier to drive than the CS3.5 which is 4ohms.. i got one of this. nice vocals though a bit shy in lows when use with low power amp.

The Carver would not be all that bad on the Thiels, I have had several Carvers hooked up to my CS3.5, better than the Adcom GFA-555, but won't really shine. Carvers can usually drive anything, high current designs mostly. Forget any kind of receiver. If you really want these to sing, spend on good amplification. The Odyssey Stratus for around $600 in audiogon would be incredible on these, I'm sure. The Thiels are way better than the KG-4, but only if you have a good amp. Otherwise, the KG-4 will actually sound better to you.

That's a good deal on that Odyssey, assuming they haven't changed much in them recently.

There is a Stratus right now on Agon for $550. These are used prices. If you want new, you have to go through the Odyssey website and it would be about twice that. They don't advertise, but you can sometimes get a "seconds" unit from Odyssey for a little more than they go used. A seconds unit from Klaus is as close to new as you would wish, he has very high standards.

That's good to know, about the seconds. I was going to go with a Stratos before my Levinson amp found me. I still am thinking about one for my second system at some point. I've heard excellent things about them.

So what happened with the Thiel/Klipsch deals?
