This is why I don't buy GW auctions

I shop at goodwill almost everyday after work. I know some of the employees by name. It's a great organization. So what if the CEO is making some money. He should. I like that it's a secular business that gives many people jobs who would otherwise not have one. There are other second hand stores in the area that don't work like that. They are all non-secular.

It always ends this way with these rants. The bottom line is that YOU should have been able to buy the records for 25 cents each then flip them for $300 yourself, right? After all, the donor gave them to you, not GW, right?

I see it as a good samaritan donating that money for 5 measly records.....some people....

Actually not at all!
I don’t have a problem that GWI gets top dollar for what is donated.
Audio gear, records. fine antiques, art., jewelry what ever!
The more GWI gets for the items the better in my book!
Actually I think its a great move and smart way to maximize what is donated!

What I have a problem with is running a 501.3c charitable organization like a for profit business from the top down including executive pay and workers pay.
Then claiming it’s a tax exempt charity .
Paying the DD workers between $5.78 & $1.40 an hour ….while funneling over $50 million to executive ‘compensation” in a 1 year period.

Not a single political thing about it.
I don’t care what ones party affiliation is if any.
Does not even enter the equation.
It is moral & ethical not a political question.
When folks donate anything to any legitimate charity.
Don’t care if its GWI,The Red Cross,Wounded Warriors,Breast Cancer Research ,DAV what ever the cause one choses to support and donate to.
The expectation is that revenue generated from ones gift will go to help the needy that charity claims to serve…. Not to the greedy execs running it.
If anyone choses to make that political …well thats on you.

This is my final comment on GWI & this thread.
Peace
PQ

That depends on how you look at it....

If we had a government that supported it's disabled people, like as if disabled people actually mattered their wouldn't be the mechanism for you to acquire 99 cent classic vinyl and I've scored some cherry stuff myself. I'm not entitled to anything that comes from GW, because just like the food banks we the people are supporting the disabled. The problem about caring is symptomatic.....
