Say hello to SN 446 and 447! These were on Seattle's CL for a week advertised just as Time Frames. The pic did not show scale and I thought 600s or so. As I had just bought a pair of Paradigms I left these alone. Then One day I read the post. One frantic phone call later and Pay Pal they were tentatively mine! Talk about a long week! A quick trip over the pass and we were introduced. The former owner collected them from a stepfathers estate 10 years ago and had sat in his shop ever since. Didn't even use them...WT? Anyhow as you can see in great shape to the point of the factory speaker sticker on the right speaker. Missing the badge for the left. Some long dead and very fortunate cat used them as a scratching post a few time but the socks are basically intact.
As for the sound just unreal! Literally has to be heard to believed! Currently I am running a Yamaha R-S700 receiver and Denon DVD 1940CI SACD player which is least adequate for now. My living room is a rental so a little small but I will be in a new house come summer. They like the back wall at a distance of the support feet at 90 degreees. About a foot from side walls. The height of the sound stage is amazing. Watching The Last Jedi was awesome! Hearts Dreamboat Annie gave me chills from the vocals. The subtle sensual vocal nuances of the Wilson sisters were literally center stage.
I don't hardly know what to say. I've always owned good gear and wondered just how much more the top end folks could squeeze for that extra zero. Now I know. I'm thinking a pair of Adcoms 565 or a Threshold S300II. That's the price range anyway. As I know someone will ask these came home with gas and lunch for under 350. I packed a pair of those up for a 2500 mile journey for an ak member. They are BEASTS! Nice beasts though.

Hello and Thanks to all for a kind welcome to AK! I have followed the forums for quite a while but never had reason to contribute. Safe to say that changed. My first experience with the TF series was with a pair of 400's last year. When I met the owner I found he was blind. Not to blow any pc fuses out there but frankly I thought it was a good sign. Loved them and thought they were big... I saw in prior threads people are trying to ascertain how many pairs exist. I remember the last SN pair was 442 and 443 so I'm hoping to help.
I am constantly amazed by what I hear. First a shout out to the Yamaha R-S700. For the $500 I have found it to be a clean powerful receiver that is going on 5 years. Second I don't have a typical set of recordings to test against but I know what I like or challenges my genres. Galactic's live "The other side of midnight." live in New Orleans is a delight! Pink Floyd's "Animals" made noises that had me think someone was in the room behind me when I was trimming the pulled threads on the sock. Cats...
I know keeping under a grand for some used amps is limiting but that is where I "currently" ;) am at. Any opinions on the subject are welcome. Also, cabling. Running monster but obviously need to upgrade. No unobtanium please.
Again thanks for a kind welcome. I will answer any questions about the speakers. And to the Seattle area: how these made it 8 days at least blows me away! Peace.

I'm glad those sold, yes I did sit by and watch them.

What kind of power requirements do they have anyway? Crown Drive core have been said to have a great bang for the buck and are based on the TI TPA chips or were the basis for the TPA chips which sound great to me and many others with great bass control.
 
My pair of TF 2000s sounded best (to me) powered by a 170 watts/pc Yamaha amplifier although they also were real nice paired with a 35 w/pic tube amp. I did end up selling them though after receiving an offer I couldn't refuse. Congrats on your score.

I get that! I'm a huge astronomy freak (owned a 25" f/5 Obsession AN/SC until it was vandalized) and it seems like someone is always in the news that has witnessed an enormous fireball or such. Not a clue but was just there. The only difference is I'm a lifetime audio nut. Every car I owned when young (and not so young) had a stereo in it worth more than the car itself!

Were you aware or fooled by the poor picture also? Crown is a name I'm starting to see more of now from prowling CL. I will look into them and Thanks for the information!

I understand. I collected TimeFrame speakers for a while and was quite impressed with the sound -
Had a pair of TimePieces, TF400, 500, 600, 700 and TF1000. Never heard the TF2000s, but I can imagine!
Still have the TF-600s for rear surrounds and have a TimePiece (and spare!) for center channel use.
Very cool speakers!
 
My 2000's had numbers very close to yours, but I can't find the pictures I had of them. Sold them because of a low WAF and not enough room or watts to do them justice. They also did not fit into my goals for systems.

Good luck with them!
