No it's a hipster thing. I call them albums, LP's, records, or vinyl and I'm 22.
I found a minty copy of 1981's "God Rest Ye Merry Jazzmen" this past summer at a Goodwill and finally gave it a spin a coupla weeks ago. Besides being appropriate for the season, it also contains some mighty fine jazz from some big names.

I've been away from AK for awhile. Is there a forum rule about the use of the word 'vinyls'? Like fingernails on a chalkboard, it is. LP, record, album, even 'platter' I can live with. Vinyls?
"Hipster" or not, "Vinyls" sounds dumb to me. I take an equally dim view on tattoos, piercings, purple hair, guys wearing earrings, and the pants-falling-down-underwear-showing look.
Guess I'm just an old fogey.
