MY MAIN SQUEEZE
Augie Meyers

The Carolina Chocolate Drops - "Leaving Eden"
I'm just discovering this band, deciding if they're poseurs, or legit. Leaning to the latter.

I definitely lean to the latter too. Granted, they're reincarnating the black string bands of the early 20th century from the Carolina Piedmont, but it's not like a bunch of others have already done so (successfully, at least).

This review is from: Texas Tornados (Audio CD)

This is some pure "Cosmic American Music" or "Alternative Country Music" at its best!!! On this CD, and in this band, you get Texas music legends, the late/great Doug Sahm (formerly from the Sir Douglas Quintet), on lead vocals & electric guitar, the late/great Freddy Fender, on lead vocals & electric guitar, Augie Myers, on lead vocals & vox organ & accordian, and also Flaco Jiminez on co-lead vocals & accordian (squeeze box). Also, you several other backing musicians, with various instruments.

The songs are as follows:

1.Who were you thinking of
2.Hey Baby Que Paso
3.Laredo Rose
4.A Man Can Cry
5.Soy DE San Luis
6.Adios Mexico
7.If that's What You're Thinking of
8.She Never Spoke Spanish to Me
9.Dinero
10.Baby! Heaven Sent Me You

The Texas Tornados: Doug Sahm, Freddy Fender, Flaco Jimenez and Augie Meyers.

Absolutely legit.
