Today's Boston Playlist

I guess it's about time I started the Boston Playlist thread to share so much of the music I grew up with.

If it's just another band out of Boston, list it here.

I'm thinking all of Massachusetts is probably good here and perhaps even bands/artists that although they might have been from just across a state line, if the Boston scene was their primary one when they started out then they fit here too.

Genre doesn't matter, just a Boston connection.

I'll kick off with the debut of a band which in some ways epitomizes the hard and edgy punk laden garage rock which was dominating Boston's local scene during the early 80's.

Although the band members were originally from Ohio, and they formed while students at UNH and living in New Hampshire, they were definitely part of Boston's alternative scene at its preamble and as it evolved into the 90's. their earliest public performances were in Boston's (now demolished) Rathskeller specifically as part of the Rat's alternative music series called Ed's Basement which ran on Sundays starting in the late 80's.

Quirky, alternative folk.

It's early would be my only answer... I certainly agree with the sentiment though.

Hidden in the opening question. Just another band out of "Boston". They are one of my very favorite bands. Great live. Saw them at the Tx Jam in 79. Spetacular show!!!
