Thorny indeed! I doubt any two definitions would coincide completely.In my own personal definition, their favorite Beatles song would be pre-Sgt. Pepper, something like "And Your Bird Can Sing", "I Feel Fine", or "Paperback Writer".

Lots of cool suggestions here. I need to keep up! That's what happens when you start getting old.
