In no particular order...
Jerry Garcia
Jorma Kaukonen
Buddy Guy
Robert Cray
Tommy T. Mudcat (local guy who blows me away every thursday night. I've played with him and/or heard him play well over 1000 times, and he still blows me away every time.)

"Favorite". Excellent choice in selecting a rating dimension. we usually such terms or phrases as "best", "most underrated", "most talented" (per technical merit), and the like. Favorite is a reasonable query requiring no objectivity whatsoever. Number "5" works well as a grouping, there's a natural mid-point for those of us who are accustomed to examining the state of the world according to any of several psychometric scales.

My five favorite guitarists, in no particular order, excpet the first three are easy choices.

Peter Townshend
Neil Young
Blind Willie Johnson

Now for the last two...hm...

Ira Kaplan
Derek Bailey

Off the top of my head, in no particular order...

Barney Kessel
Charlie Christian
Doc Watson
Charlie Byrd
Kenny Burrell

Dozens more, mostly jazz, favorites
