Headed for Dollar%s and Cents. 4rshome, please check the forum rules....

Also, lots of comments on them across AK forums and over in the Quadraphonic forums elsewhere on the 'net. Search is your friend.

Cheers,

David

I apologize for the confusion.
I am very impressed with this receiver. I hooked my bose 901 series 5 up to this receiver and i would have to say the output is very clean and warm. Equal if not better than my Marantz 4300.
The receiver is a power horse.

My dad bought one new...early to mid 70's?....and i had one for a few years ago that i got off ebay....very under rated units...nice find!.
as the numbering says. SA-504 = 50wpc x 4

Resurrecting this post. I grabbed one of these yesterday on FB marketplace. Filthy nicotine grime all over it. Couple lights out. Broken RCA plug in the phono section. Owner said one channel out but we all know that can be a dirty pot or switch. I wiggled the source/tape switch and heard promise.

All cleaned up and replaced a couple bulbs and man, I gotta say, she sounds great! I'm just going to use it in 2ch so 70 wpc. Love the factory blue lights.

Hi there. I'm just about to pick one of these up that the seller says turns on, but produces no sound. Any idea what the problem might be? Or what I should look at first? Thanks

I can't remember if there are Pre/main connects on the back. Make sure those are there. I also always take headphones and see if sound is made there, if so it's a good indicator it may be an easy fix. If not, i would walk away.

Sadly, we lost the above unit in the Altadena fire in January, along with some Dynaco a-25s and 400 records. Very bummed.

Thank you for the reply. Sorry for your losses.

I bought the amp for £30. After a little poking around with a soldering iron, I've managed to get front channel left and rear channel right working. I only want to use 2 speakers with it anyway... but in this configuration it's 35w per channel. To get the full 70w, I'll need to get the whole thing working.

Everything up to Pre-Out works, but the Main-In channels are a bit iffy. Components on that board, and on the 2 power amp boards, will need to be replaced.

I really don't know how to check components.... and buying every single part for the boards seems extreme... but may be necessary. Need to learn from the school of YouTube, I guess.

Any advice...

Kind regards,

S
