Train derailment on Ohio, toxic spill.

More reasons then just the balloons as to why it's not being covered. Railfans are saying much of the stuff on that train wasn't manifested or wasn't manifested in the proper quantity. The fact that residents started getting sick within an hour is really telling too. Some gnarly stuff on that train that we won't ever know the full extent of nor will we know the true fallout for years to come.

I have been hearing about it all day. Unfortunately stuff needs to be moved and if an axle did break that would be very rare and not normal and would definitely qualify as an accident. Chemicals are moving all the time everywhere and I guess this axle we can be glad was not under a passenger train.

I think this happened last Friday, but it seemed like there was almost a news blackout on it, at least at first in the MSM. I don't normally watch MSM, but when a story this big happens I usually see it in social media links.. Not to make it into some conspiracy thing, just wondering if those who tune into the big networks heard much about this before now?

How in the hell can they say with any confidence that everything is fine, come on back home now. Maybe the powers that be should bring their families there and start cooking, bathing and guzzling down the well water. I'm appalled that they are letting people back in so soon.

I've been following this (although not on the big news channels) since it happened Feb 3rd.

It is a serious concern, not only for the swath that experiences immediate die-off and sickness, but all those who depend on the Ohio River for water.

That.....is quite a few of us.

In the minds of the mainstream media, if it doesn't pertain to politics, perceived social issues, guns, or major metropolitan areas, it's not that important and shouldn't get much coverage. Sadly, another example of the disparity and divide in this country.

Had no idea it happened that far back. Almost old news! That's what I get for living in a bubble. Still I think the bigger story is what will happen now to the people in that poor town, and the areas down wind and down stream??

Likely the same thing that happened with folks around sites of fracking, those unlucky to be near abandoned mines, and sundry other acts of corporate negligence/ineptitude.

Divide the masses with little issues and make them blind to the big ones.

You gents want to talk political smack do it on AK's politics website PoliticalChat.org.

This doesn't seem to be getting much press, with all the balloons and all, but it looks pretty serious with toxic chemicals, dead fish, dogs, chickens etc..
Prayers for those who live in the small town of East Palestine.

They allowed Amy Goodman to run this story. Huh.
