same old conclusions, dead end oh well ile stick it back in the cupboard for another year or 2. thanks for the help thoe mate
 
one thing i can suggest is find all the voltage regulators and check the voltages . you might get lucky .
also check for dry joints
 
will do matey, i actually thought i found a dry joint yesterday it was right near one of the speaker connections, it was a resistor, who knows it could of been that, wont know till i put it back together, thanks for the help thoe mate, i have to agree ive learned something of this thread, cheers mate
