I saw the specifications of these two and it seems to me that the pinouts are the sameThe bottom one is KSC945CYTA = the 'centre collector' part - indicated by the 'C'
The top one is the 'centre base' part.
Either will work, but to avoid pinout errors, if you had centre collector parts originally that's what you should get as replacements - as they will be 'drop-in' without the need to bend or 'form' the legs (pins). Similarly, if you had 'centre base' parts - get those instead.
I see what you mean - but they should be different.but they have the same pinout
Do you have an email so I can send you some photos?I see what you mean - but they should be different.
You'll just have to make an 'educated guess' - as I said either will work, you just have to get the connections correct.
Take a look at your PCB board markings - the legs should be labelled (I can't see in your pictures in post #21).
If anything is marked on a PCB its either the 'collector' or the 'emitter', seldom the 'base'. In your case it doesn't look like the pinouts are noted on the PCB, and at this point I can't help you any more.I thought this white marking was the base of the transistor
Can you tell me the size of the transistors (ksc1845) (ksc945) of the Akai GX-747DBX recorder? 1). You need to make a decision about which transistors you want to buy.
2). You might need to get a Service Manual for your unit, which should indicate how your transistors are positioned. or at the very least get a simple transistor tester which can identify pinouts, but also verify the good/bad status of your original transistors.
Good Luck!
They are the same size perhaps slightly smaller - they wouldn't have been suggested as replacements if they weren't size compatible. Can you tell me the size of the transistors (ksc1845) (ksc945) of the Akai GX-747DBX recorder? I'm going to buy it from Mouser
