Transistor Substitutes please - AKAI AM-2200 2SB560 2SD438

I have to replace the transistors on my AKAI AM-2200 and have searched for replacements but not sure which way to go.
Any advice or suggestions would be great.
NB: They are T4 and T5 on power supply, 2SB560 and 2SD438
Option 1 : Replace with KSC1845 and KSA992 these seem to be a very generic choice by several people but are they really suitable ?
Option 2 : Replace with MJE15030G and MJE13031G only one suggestion made for this so not sure ?

Your option 1 is insufficient KSC1845, Ic 50 mA (2SD438, Ic 700mA)
Your option 2 is overkill MJE15030G, Ic 8 A
 
For replacing transistors, compare the datasheet.
And herein is the challenge. I have not looked at the data sheets for these, but in general data sheets, often have missing information, different units of measure, different abbreviations, the data sheets are not available, etc. It is certainly possible, and in many cases pretty easy to compare. But comparing data is often pretty arduous and calls for a lot of judgment.

@sanjib’s response in post #4 is spot on. And explains why. These kinds or responses are where I’ve learned a lot about substituting semiconductors. Take the data sheets and figure out why one is more appropriate than the other.
 
This thread and the linked threads are a great place to start. There are several linked transistor substitution spreadsheets available. I don’t take them as gospel, just as a steering point.
 
Thank you folks for your responses. I'll try to make some comparisons now I have a steer towards other options, without which I would have to search hundreds, being new to this i'm still surprised that no one in the industry has put together a search database/engine for substitutes.

The main datasheet values for comparison, I believe, are Vce, Vcb, Ic, Pd, Hfe and fT ? Are there others that I should really try to match ?

There are very few “simple” device X is always good sub for device Y because devices are used differently in different parts of circuits. That would be why there is no simple search and replace.

Go to Mouser or Digikey and use their filter tool. It will tell you what’s available. The trick is to know which parameters matter and which don’t.

Reading @dlucy’s threads will be a great start!
 
If you can find the KSA916/KSC2316 combo anywhere, they are pretty close in most parameters, but they also went EOL.
 
For a noob, that can be mind boggling.

Can you suggest a hierarchy of specs to focus on?
Voltage and current. If these don’t match or exceed the original, it could burn up or have a lowered lifespan. But that’s just to meet the “not catching on fire” specs. Performance specs are where it gets tricky. The thread linked above is a great read. Take your time, read a lot, and realize it’s as much art as science.

Plus, what’s the harm is ordering a few transistors that are close and trying them out? Really, they are a few cents each if you already have an order going in. Try one and find out.

I was replacing differential pair transistors in a receiver. There were two recommendations from different AK luminaries. I orderded several of both, matched some pairs and tried them. Both sounded very good, but one brought down my offset more. And I learned a lot. Not a bad investment for less than the price of a cup of coffee.

Hi, I see you did help someone with a transistor substitute. I have a Sansui QRX-9001 and I would like to replace 2 transistors on my Power Circuit which are: 2SD356 and 2SB560 ... any help is very much appreciated. Thank you
