I'm happy to share the list I built and the reasoning behind it. I'd started a recent thread to get input on the list, now I've ordered parts for the first 330B, I'll install and learn from that process, and I expect to end with a "here's the standard BOM for a recap on the HK 330B and here's the extras that slightly-obsessive people like me would add to that list."

Yes it is. Gotta love the simple setup. Hooked it up last night to a pair of KLHs that I cleaned up but had yet to listen to. Good match. They'd definitely be at home in a bungalow in Portland. SE Portland, near Laurelhurst Park would be nice.

I just picked up one of these hk 430's from thrift, slightly patina'd and dirty as sin with a channel out. Replaced a blown speaker fuse, checked the offset and it sounds great. Rivals my recently recapped 2220b soundwise. Now I just need to relamp it.

Yeah Portland's been $$ for awhile. Those Californians huh? Lucky I have dual citizenship. If I wanted to get really fancy I'd go for something around the Hillside hood. Though my H/K wouldn't cut it there, I'd have to step up to a McIntosh or something.

My 430 did not sound great with my NLA's, which really surprised me. Could be my 430 needs some work. I'm curious to hear your analysis once you test that combination out.

The switches on the HK 300 and 400 series are really tricky boogers! Finding this to be true over the past week with a recent 330C I purchased off CL.

Upon intial power up it was playing really nicely. I noticed the left channel crackled a little without turning any knobs. I played it for a few hours with no issues then powered it down. Next day, no Left channel on power up. Going to cut to the chase here,... the darn monitor pushbutton switch is quite wonky, touchy, fickle and downright hard to get to to clean out. I ended up pulling the faceplate to get to the front of the switch so as to inject D5 in there with some F5 Fader lube to follow.

Also, if the faceplate is not perfectly aligned, it can put some undo tension and stress on the pushbuttons. Those buttons seem to have the tightest clearances through the faceplate. I ended up loosening the faceplate and aligning it ever so gently. Also used some white lithium grease in the brown thru-holes to avoid any faceplate rub. Seems to be playing just fine now. I'll probably end up doing a recap on it. These receivers really do sound great!
