Tube Amp Project

6005 outputs, same as the 6AQ5. Very similar to a 6V6, just less power handling.

That amp should sound a lot like a 6V6 PP power amp, naturally.

I have read recommendations, to upgrade the output transformers, as the original ones were said to be a bit bass-shy. Some people have apparently substituted an Edcor output transformer, with good results. With what looks like for 6005 tubes per channel (parallel push pull), it would probably would want something like 15 to 25 watt output capacity, and between 4K and 5K primary impedance, push-pull, into whatever secondary speaker impedance you have (4 or 8 ohms)...

Gordon.

Experimented with building something like I posted.

Us tube guys know tube amps inside and out. I can wire a tube amp from memory of a schematic in my sleep. Been doing it over 50 years now. No need for snark ......that's why I put the smiley face after my post.

You probably didn't know that there are people out there that do these things in their sleep so I appolgize if I too came off snarky. Tube based equipment started things over 100 years ago and I am in my early 60's so I know tube amplifiers. :music:
