This is all fantastic information, thanks for sharing!! While it seems I'm learning a lot, I have this funny feeling like I've only scratched the surface.
On that note, has anyone created a thread on AK which goes into detail on how to determine tube manufacturers by the tube markings/labels? Or is this that thread?

There are several sites that have mfg/date codes.

Philips Tube Codes.

Brent Jesse Tube Codes.

1959 EIA Codes.

VivaTubes Tube Codes.

There are more online sites with posted codes. :)
