Finally got most of the turntables that I had collected before I left Denver unboxed after my move to our new house. I have this room and the bonus room above the garage to store all of my audio collection, records included. So, I'm thinking about adding onto the back of the house and try to tie into the new addition to the existing bonus room and end up with 3 bonus rooms! Plus a garage big enough for my car hobby.

For those interested the turntables are as follows:

Top shelf L-R: Sansui FR-D25, Pioneer PL-800S, Pioneer PL-800, Pioneer PL- 7, NAD
2nd shelf L-R: Pioneer PL-112D, Pioneer PL115D, Pioneer PL-6, Pioneer PL-55X, Pioneer PL-530
3rd shelf L-R: AR XA, Thorens TD-165, Thorens TD-160, Thorens TD-160, Thorens TD-155X
4th shelf L-R: Pioneer PL-71, Pioneer PL-A45D, Pioneer PL-55X, Pioneer PL-51, Dual 1228
5th shelf L-R: Pioneer PL-41, Pioneer PL-A35, Pioneer PL-61, Pioneer PL-50, Pioneer PL--31D
6th shelf L-R: Realistic ELAC Miracord 46, Benjamin ELAC Miracord 40H, Pioneer PL-A25, Pioneer PL-12D, Pioneer PL-530

You have 3 PL-630s? I'm been looking for years and can't find one.

That quite a collection, you my need professional help :D

Wow! You're giving my friend with the huge collection some competition!

I'm guessing you like Pioneer TT's!:D

OMG, WHY? Why build an addition just to house more stuff? The one shelf filled with turntables isnt enough, thats alot of assembly to switch decks. Is that how you roll? Do you use any of those, or are they just for decoration?

Just so you know where I'm coming from, I have 3 turntables on display that I actually use. One (My avatar) for listening, two for DJing at home, two tucked away in cases for DJing on the go, and one spare listening turntable tucked away if mine goes bad.

Yep that's how I roll. I take it you don't collect anything?

And the addition is a garage for my car hobby. I roll with them too.

Yes, I collect (other) things; that was tongue-in-cheek. It is a nice collection that you have there.

That is quite a collection ! My hats off to you . I use to have a huge collection of snare drums that I had picked up on the road . But I sold them off since I didn't have a place of my own at the time . I envy that you have the space for the stuff you love .
Rudy .

Thanks! I can imagine that snare drums would take up alot of space! I'm lucky that I have a woman that understands that I like to collect things. And it's a good thing that she doesn't or we would have to have alot bigger house!

So out of all the turntables in your collection, which one is your favorite? Still no Garrard 301 or Thorens 124?

If I were to sell them all and keep just one it would probably be the Pioneer PL-61. I haven't run across a Garrard 301 or a Thorens 124 but if I did and if they were affordable I wouldn't pass either one up. All of the ones that I have I picked up at either thrift stores or off CL and most were under $100. The Empire 598 I paid alot for but the 488 I paid less than $100 for it. It is on an original Empire board that was made for console use but I am wanting to build a plinth for it. I picked up an Empire plinth on ebay but it's too big for it.

Awesome collection. You never answered ... are they all operational and set up, ready to go?

So if you see a 301 or TD124 that were more costly why not sell some of your doubles to fund the new editions?

The turntables are nice, but what I'm coveting is your shelves. I could sure use those for my repair inventory.

hmmmmmm. So that's where some of the tables I called on CL but they were gone! That is a great collection :)

Most are operational but some need minor repairs. If the opportunity presents itself I'll probably pick up a 301 or a TD124.

The shelving is Ikea IVAR which I sanded and stained. Really sturdy and affordable.

Yep kermit, I removed a helluva lot of stuff from Denver when I moved. It took 4 trips!
