TurnTable for this system...where do i go from here ?

I wouldn't worry about mixing vintage with some new components...you won't find much for vintage mp3 players or vintage streaming devices.
Don't sell your 2270 short. It's one of the finest receivers ever made. You'd be hard-pressed to outdo it in terms of build quality. I would be content with a 2270 for a very, very long time. I have a Pioneer SX-950 and I'd trade it for a 2270 any day. And Altec 14's... how can you not love those? Classic!!!
In a lot of fields, newer means better performance than vintage. The new Dodge Challenger is a much better performing car than the classic early 70's model, for instance, in comfort, safety, MPG, emissions, on and on.
But for reasons that would take too long to list here and would likely incite nothing less than WWIII on AK, I won't go into the reasons why that isn't necessarily so with Hi Fi gear. In short, what you currently have is quite good, and doesn't need replacing. Of course, you can always get *more* gear, but it would take a lot to beat what you already have, IMO.

I'm not going to argue about New vs. Old turntables. It's futile. There are zealots on both sides and it's counterproductive and not worth the effort. Believe what you will.

Where are you finding this spec? All I can find is "RPM Deviation - 0.2%"
Of course, you do get a pair of white cotton gloves with the 15S1. I guess so you can do Marcel Marceau impressions in time to music.
It looks very nice and reviews seem to favor it...but it also is at the exact top of the OP's budget. If your figure is right, the OP is gaining 0.01% of speed stability and a really nice cartridge and arm. I'm betting there's more bang to be had for the buck.

The answer to your question, now I come to check, is on various dealer's websites and turntable forums, which doesn't fill me with confidence. However, I found some lab tests in HiFi Choice that measure the wow and flutter of the closely-related Clearaudio Emotion as 0.04%.

If it's in your budget a TD 124 with a modern arm and a moderately priced LOMC is very nice and would match up great with your vintage gear. I do think the new Marantz turntable also is very nice. I believe it's made by Clear Audio. Just noticed your budget, probably not going to be a 124, but another vintage Thorens should work.

Well, I'm finding that it's a much better turntable than I originally thought. So I guess we're both moving closer to a consensus.
I just pmed a guy in bartertown regarding the denon dl-110 ill see how that goes. Sounds like a good start into MC carts and a bump up upgrade. If I like I could always go up to the 103 with a SUT but at a cost of $400+ over the denon dl-110 to do so.
I appreciate your thoughts on the 6100 I have heard that this TT isn't desireable..yet I really like it a lot. Im glad to hear that it might actually be worth keeping and doing a cart upgrade on it. Even if I could score a 6300 or Thorens I think (am I wrong) that the Denon cart would be a decent matchup..

Desirable, or valuable $? You really like it a lot, it performs well...that's all that should matter.
It's a lot like collecting anything. Sometimes the most *valuable* things aren't necessarily based on rarity or performance, but more so *popularity*.
